The New Year is a time for fresh starts and new goals. These could be personal endeavours or relate to the business you work for/own. If it’s the latter, then you’ll need to consider how effective your marketing strategy is and identify any areas for improvement. Here are five tips to get you started:
1. Send a New Year Email
Show your customers you care about them by sending around New Year’s greetings. However, it’s likely that your customers’ emails will be bombarded on New Years Day, so it might be worth getting in there a little early to increase the chances of your email being noticed. In doing so, you will also show your customers that they are a priority to you. Perhaps offer a discount or another kind of offer within the email to boost your sales.
2. Appeal to New Year’s Resolutions
At the start of a new year, lots of people set resolutions and many of them are about losing weight or quitting something for their health. Try and appeal to these people by launching a campaign that promotes body positivity and achieving one’s goals.
3. Give Out Promotional Merchandise
Promotional merchandise is a fantastic way to attract new customers and retain existing ones because it’s a way of thanking them for their support. If you’re launching new products in time for the New Year, perhaps you could give away a little taster version of the items with your brand name and logo on, to entice people to come back for more.
4. Share on Social Media
Employ a graphic designer or use a tool like Canva to create stunning visuals that you can share on social media to wish your followers a Happy New Year. Be sure to incorporate all of the relevant hashtags for a wider reach. You would certainly be missing a trick if you weren’t active on social media.
5. Launch Some Google Ads
Google Ads are a great way to target specific interests using relevant, well-researched keywords. No matter what industry you belong to, they ensure you a visible in the Google Search Engine Results Page (SERP). You may need to hire a digital agency to support you with this but it will be worth it for the ROI.
Obviously, when it comes to marketing, your options are endless; the above ideas merely scratch the surface. Don’t be afraid to get creative and try out new strategies until you find something that sticks!
